Born of Puerto Rican descent, in Brooklyn NY, on July 17, 1987, she is the third child, with two younger sisters by her father. Her two elder brothers share the same parents. As a tot, She would dress in African garbs designed by her mother and wave with a brilliant smile so frequent that relatives dubbed her “Baby Winnie Mandela”. The attention received is most likely the root of her desire to pursue modeling later on in life.
During her junior high school and high school years, she drifted into semi-reclusion and displayed tomboyish behavior. Both of her brothers were removed from an active role in her life, the eldest going to prison and the other being inducted into the military. With her father living out of state, she began to search for companionship from boys, which eventually led to “boy trouble”.
Admist her later years at the Fashion Industries High School, she began doing some serious introspection in an attempt to change the course of her life. She suddenly became more inquisitive and sought answers to things that puzzled her. She also began to express herself more, understanding the power in “voice”. Incrementally, she embarked on a mission to micromanage her life more professionally. She blocked out any negative feedback concerning her goals. With persistence, she graduated with a regents diploma, the only one of her siblings, and enrolled in college. Though both brothers received GEDs and too went onto college, they commended her for not dropping out of high school.
At the age of nineteen, she landed her first gig, a BET wrap-it-up commercial. Not long after enrolling into college, she was placed in Hype Hair Magazine. The seed of success was beginning to brew inside of her. A pattern of executing goals was materializing before her eyes.
Determined to keep the flame lit, she booked several other magazine placements, including XXL, RIDES, IKON, Cornerstore, Aeon, Spicy, and Beauty Times. With one foot cemented in the modeling world, she planted the other in the music industry and began singing. Crooning in the studio opened a new networking pool that enabled her to get featured in several music videos as a model. She also models for Dr. Lin Skin Care, several Hair product companies and clothing companies including, Clear Boutique, Coogi, Fubu, RichYung, Rocawear, Royal Blunts, ForeverFly, Vilchez, and DEVO shoes. She also coordinated the publication of the dazzling novels “Highsidity” by author Shamel Thomas and “Gorilla Khan” by William DeJesus.
This is only the beginning for the young starlet, her singing career is soon to be launched. She has been working with a variety of big name producers and understands the importance of connecting through music, so expect to hear good quality. She is humbly thankful for all the support from family, friends, and fans. Stay tuned!!!
